When I was training rigorously in ballet it would be common to hear the sounds of pointe shoes against the floor as a student went over their variations. When I would take naps in the dressing room on long rehearsal days I would fall asleep to this noise. Now the sound is melancholic noise that wisps through the air in my memory. I created this sound by stuffing the recorder in my bag so the music and the pointe shoes would be slightly muffled as if hearing the noises from another room.
