For my project I chose to focus on what the world could look like if humans had all died and only Artificial Intelligence was left. The illustration shows two AI robots sitting in an empty, dilapidated cafe that has been abandoned for a long time. I wanted the robots to look pristine while their surroundings are eerie and dim, to highlight the emptiness and uncanny nature of their artificial patronage of the cafe. The title is a nod to Dead Internet Theory, a conspiracy theory that the internet is mostly bot activity and interactions. This project is the idea taken further, and what if that bot activity was AI still simulating the activity of real people after humans are long gone. The topic of AI is important to be informed and cautious about, and hopefully this illustration will make people think deeper about the impacts Artificial Intelligence will have on our future.
