I chose to do my project on the genocide happening in Gaza right now. It is something that weighs heavy on me every day, especially knowing that my tax dollars are funding it. I wanted to make a piece that showed the different emotions and experiences being felt by the people in Gaza right now, and even just people in the rest of the world that are feeling the effects. I felt called to a piece of text I found in a magazine that reads “I am pretty sure it can wait”. I pulled it out of its original context, but I felt that it had a place here. It is up for interpretation, but to me it connects to multiple different issues regarding people refusing to boycott certain places that support Israel, and the politicians in this country that seem to be prioritizing other issues.
