I decided to make my ProjectNOW about trans people in America, since many recent events have occurred that have been increasingly upsetting for the trans community. I wrote the names of all the documented cases I could find of murders and suicides of trans people in the United States in the past four years in the middle of a trans flag, spelling out the word “REMEMBER” to confront the viewer about the issue of violence and harassment that many of us trans folks are subject to. This is not something to be brushed aside and forgotten. These names represent hundreds of lives which ended far too early.
