Photographic collage, broken plate glass, food coloring – 8″ x 10″. This piece was created by precisely striking plate glass. Then, under each shard, photograph cutouts were glued to match the lines of the fracture, over which a solid piece of glass was placed on which is the smear of “blood”.

This piece represents the politicization of the current conflict in Gaza to the detriment of the primary victims on the ground. The fragmentation of the American political sphere has been the primary focus of discourse surrounding the issue, but in the reality of those victimized by the violence, is not even a tertiary concern. Rather than tribal infighting and political gain, the blood being shed on a daily basis is what ought to be on the mind first of all those who wish to engage with this conflict.
