Last year, spring 2023, an unusually high ratio of wildflowers bloomed in California. This event is called a superbloom and occurs rarely, only after an unusually high amount of rain following extreme drought. While superblooms are beautiful, highly anticipated events, unfortunately they are a somewhat unnatural occurrence and essentially a product of climate change. This topic interests me because I find it incredibly compelling that something so beautiful could be the sign of such a major threat.
