There is currently an ethnic and cultural cleansing occurring in Palestine. Historically, colonizers attempted to wipe out everything related to the native peoples’ culture, including their traditional foods. I decided to make Knafeh, a Palestinian dessert, to show that you cannot erase history and culture, due to globalization. Making this Knafeh is in of itself a statement against the genocide in Palestine. The Knafeh and composition also represent the colors of the Palestinian flag.
