This piece works to illustrate the nuances technology brings to a classroom environment. The most prominent part of this piece is the lighting which illuminates a screen that distracts the student from the teachings on the whiteboard. This along with the lack of people helps to highlight the fact that technology in school when not utilized as a tool operates as distraction and can lead to less social interaction. I hope to provide to the viewers that there is a time and a place to use your technology leisurely and school isn’t one of those places.

My soundscape is comprised of the first thing I hear when I wake up, which is a mix of traffic and birds chirping, followed by an overwhelming recording of my three classes’ lecture material, and ending with the sound of my coffee machine. It’s a 60 second representation of what I pay to spend my time remembering. It’s an homage to the contrast between enjoying learning and the loss of life balance and energy that comes with higher education for many students. The album art is representative of a brain making numerous connections at once, sparking a campfire that represents burnout.
