Named after Emily Dickinson’s poem, “I felt a Funeral, in my Brain”, this piece is drawn on cold press water color paper with colored pencils. This was done to keep all of the imagery fuzzy, and because the artist greatly dislikes drawing with colored pencils but loves cold press paper. Trying to use a tool ill-suited to a medium is often what it feels like inside the artist’s brain. The figures have been left uncolored in an attempt to make them more like black slates.
