My soundscape is composed of different clips that my dad has taken of me, my family and friends during various joyful moments over the years. Layered over that is the intro to Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2, a band and song I hold very close to my heart as my family owned all the albums and would play U2 songs all the time. To tie that altogether is a recording of me reading part of the poem The Forest by Susan Stewart. For me the poem gives meaning to the soundscape because to me, the forest is a representation of memory, and the poem expresses the intangibility of those memories. There is a certain bittersweetness in the knowledge that although you hold those memories, you will never be able to relive them, and one day you may even forget them altogether.
