I Can’t Teach You That

This piece focuses on the current attempts to implement the restrictions listed in the Utah Bill, HB303. This bill, if implemented would “prohibit school officials and employees from endorsing, promoting, or disparaging certain beliefs or viewpoints” (Utah State Legislature, 2024). This includes the teachers rights to display pride flags or discuss gender identity. I have a lot of discourse with this bill, and various personal reasonings to fight against it. As a future Art Educator, and a native Utahnian, I made this piece to spread the information of the harm this bill would bring.
