The destruction and censorship of queer literature in schools is a harmful practice that encourages violence and unacceptance toward the LGBTQIA+ community. This especially impacts queer children. I asked my friends what they wish they had known while discovering and accepting their queer identity, or a realization they made along the way. I made them into children’s book pages and drew flowers historically used as queer symbols. I wanted to follow a path of reclaiming the destroyed books/identity.
