I chose to create a piece regarding a multitude of events circulating around the notion of origin. The settler-colonial Israeli occupation in Palestine hearkens back to the genocide of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. I chose to draw Skywoman of the Iroquois origin story in contrast with the Judeo-Christian Genesis, wherein the notions of conquering and subduing the earth are ever-present and predictive.
