The goal of Bright Lights is to showcase light pollution. Light pollution has harmful effects on both out mental and physical health. This picture shows how even commonplace things can be dangerous.

The work is a picture taken by me out behind my apartment building. It’s something that I see regularly, making it perfect to take a picture of, something that we all everyday, something commonplace. Light pollution is something that affects us all, all of the time. Something that many of us have some context about. It can communicate, and keep communicating with the viewer after they’ve seen the work because they’ll start to notice every patch of light pollution that they never saw before. A reoccurring thought, a bright memory.
