Rising occurrences of gun-related violence in communities, particularly in schools or similar educational settings, have been left without prominent legislative action on regulating firearms. This acrylic, oil pastel, and ballpoint pen composition draws viewers into a playful, childlike painting in the background; it reflects a field of flowers. Deepened holes jump out from inside of the flower fields, a representation of the raw, gaping holes left in communities following an incident of gun violence. Colorful trim edges the exterior of each gaping hole in reminiscence of a childhood lost to a school shooting.
