Help is Available

This collection of high resolution portraits of my group of close queer friends with their names, pronouns and identities is meant to provide a sense of urgency for the immediate need for more protective legislation and mental health resources for our community. These images are simple yet striking and meant capture more than words can say on this current crisis in our modern sociopolitical world regarding the high suicide rates correlated to the anti- trans/gay political forces elected in our government. Titled ‘Help is Available’ to draw attention to the meaning of this without taking away from the images by cluttering them with words. The eyes of individuals carrying this message better than text blocks ever could.

This piece reflects on the current state of identity politics, risen to an elevated pitch by the global introduction of Artificial Intelligence in recent years. As artists, our identity is tightly linked to our ability to communicate to the public,… Continue Reading →

Portrait of addiction

In this painting, I chose to highlight society’s view on struggling addicts as others through painting the person in a blue color-scheme. The reference is from a photo I took of a person struggling from severe withdrawal from fentanyl on… Continue Reading →
