This piece is meant to show the influence of the way the outside world sometimes feels in relation to my inner self. Many times I feel as though it is a very dark, rigid, encompassing force that is attempting to stifle the color, pattern and somewhat un orderliness that I feel inside. The star is supposed to represent me with the layers of color and swirls extending outwards representing my thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I feel that this dissonance, between the order and rigidity of the outside world in some ways has shaped my identity to resist this and embrace even deeper the colorfulness, joy and disorder of my inner self.
