To explore identity, I chose the identity of a woman being controlled by the male gaze, making many woman feel they have to present themselves a certain way inorder to be seen.For my portrait I did a half natural look with everything untouched, being able to see the natural and raw parts of someone while the other side I curled, and done with a full face if makeup. I also used a flash to help highlight one side of the face and blend the other in shadows to obscure the image from being a normal portrait.
