As a trans person I often find myself feeling envy when I see people or things that embody gender in a similar way to myself, but my physical body doesn’t match these feeling of gender leading me to feel envy. I put a cartoon style of my own face on a statue of Dionysus/Bacchus as he struggles with gender himself and represents freedom from social conventions as well as having an idealized male body in his depiction. The fire is in the trans colors with pink first since that’s how I’ve been seen, then blue to show how I wish to be seen.
