Done with charcoal on paper. I was inspired particularly by the works of post-modernists like Barbara Kruger as well as Dadaist typography. The words referenced are from the poem “First They came,” by Niemöller, and is chosen to evoke a warning to us now under Trump’s increasingly growing and fascist-pointed seizure of power that will disrupt the safety of all of us, even those of us who think everything will be okay.
