The cola can represents a man in his physical form, and the contents of the can are what the man feels on the inside. He is given a false sense of security by being poked at and told “Just be transparent”. He explodes with feelings from his past and how he has been betrayed all his life. He now has a hole in his side and is represented by Coca Cola Zero, zero in this case meaning zero value. The can is then thrown away, and you’re left with its content, which molds and deteriorates over time. People will look at this bowl and think what could have happened? If only he would tell US what happened, which then repeats the cycle. The quotes are a representation of what the man hears and feels before, during, and after opening up about his feelings, as well as the decrease in size of the can throughout the art.
