when I conceived of this project, i was upset at the audacity and individualism and disrespect to history and the laws of physics and nature that allow a disaster like this to take place, but I’ve spent some time ruminating on the oceangate wreck, and they’re down there forever. granted, their bodies are not artistically strewn across the seafloor (probably. who knows. we’ll never find them).

There’s a lot of catastrophizing and doomer mentality and discussion about global climate change, and I spent a week in Nebraska and a week in Florida recently. Those states are hot and humid most years, but this year was to a different extent. I really didn’t want to discuss or create about climate change because everyone’s always thinking about climate change and I don’t like to. However however however it’s just so prevalent. I’m hot, damnit. And I’m sweaty. And tired. So maybe I just want to die on the seafloor. go to sleep. make the people with money and power fix the situation instead of investing in their vanity submarines.
