I created this soundscape by standing outside the practice rooms of WWU’s Performing Arts Center and recording small clips of the chaotic sounds. The audio clips were short and highly compressed due to being recorded on the Nintendo DSi, a console released in 2009. I’ve been interested in this retro technology and was curious to see how it would interpret the layered sounds of the environment. I wove the clips together and edited the clips with the DSi’s built-in sound editing and recorded this on my phone. The cover photo of my cello was taken on the DSi camera.
