As a jazz saxophonist, I have always been interested in the “hidden” sounds that are made when performing a piece of music, the sounds that are edited out or disguised. I created this piece by playing a snippet of Glen Millers in the mood on my alto saxophone without using any air. the result is a song made up of only the key presses which creates an eerie sound but is still distinguishable as the song. the key presses move air through the saxophone so that you can hear certain notes as well as the inverse of some. As certain high notes sound low and some low notes deeply resonate in the saxophone it creates an odd yet intriguing song.
