I wanted to include a hand gesture that wasn’t as mean as the finger, and while thinking of gestures I frequently do, I thought of the heart gesture–specifically how you extend your middle finger and curl your ring finger to make one half of a heart (or maybe you’re weird and you put both of your hands together and cusp your hands). With this in mind, I thought it would be funny to make the progression of the middle finger into a heart for something that I couldn’t ever be mean to, and wouldn’t you know it, cats were the first thing that popped up in my head!
