This piece captures my journey of reconnecting with my Hmong heritage during the pandemic. The hand-drawn village symbolizes the cultural roots that ground me, while the empty village shows the quiet time I spent reflecting and growing. This artwork represents my renewed embrace of my cultural identity and the blending of tradition with my present self. Through this process, j have come to appreciate the richness of my heritage and how it shapes who I am today. The simplicity of the drawing underscores the profound impact of this personal and cultural reawakening. (I brought this piece back home down south to work on and I accidentally forgot it so I had my sister take the photo and send it to me).
