For my project I wanted to convey the censorships happening very frequently in the media at the moment. Since Donald Trump has been re-elected as president, he has been pushing for a lot of censorship and blocking of funds to news outlets in order to prevent them from publishing about the truth. This not only violates the first amendment’s protection of free speech and government censorship, but also harms the American people ability to stay informed and get proper information to help themselves. Censorship has also begun prior to Trumps re-election through the loss of firewalls in media outlets. Billionares like Jeff Bezos, are buying news companies like the Washington Post and preventing the from publishing about certain topics. I wanted to convey these topic by taking a newspaper and painting over many of the images making them illegible. While we are lucky to still have the news our liberty is in jepordary through all of this censorship. We wont be able to get information that is true and credible which is basically like reading a blacked out newspaper.
