In 2013, in hopes of promoting a more exciting and spectator friendly environment, the International Judo Federation (IJF) outlawed the gripping of an opponents legs or pants to throw them. To the dismay of many Judoka (Judo practitioners), this removed many techniques and strategies from the competitive scene, leaving players longing for their return. Now nearly twelve years later, we are beginning to see their comeback. Here is a demonstration of a few such techniques.
