This piece was inspired by Florida’s recent employment bill 1718, that has greatly impacted the eligibility of workers in the United States. This piece comes from the perspective of labor and depicts agricultural production after the bill was passed. I want to portray the necessity of these workers and the unfortunate results of this new bill.
This project inspired me to capture the sounds at low tide, with some birds, the sound of the waves, and music because I am always listening to music while I enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the waves.
This piece illustrates my identity as I have figured out how to be my own self, independent of the identity of my twin sister. We look very similar on the outside and are constantly compared to each other, but we have a lot of uniqueness by ourselves.
For this art I used painter’s tape and created various peaks, braids, and other shapes, yet kept the medium the same throughout. This piece is inspired by Jackson Pollock. The way his paint appears random but is intentionally placed, is the same as what I have done with the tape.
