The Artwork for a pin depicting both the Democrat and Republican House in a Yin and Yang format. Outside the circle containing the images is the text in latin “Sumus Populi Americani” “In Unitas Stamus.” Which translates to: “We are the American People, in unity we stand.” This marker and pen drawing is to be inserted into a pin maker to create a pin symbolizing the importance of unity amongst difference as a staple of American ideals and culture.
A simple face sculpted with clay, covered in little pieces of paper. Each paper has a label that has been put on me by others, barely seen under them all is my nickname “Siah” while my full name “Jesiah has been cover from view. This sculpture aims to show how modern societies emphasis on social groups, clicks, trends, and associations can cause a person to experience a lost of self as they alter themselves or are altered by others.
