Soldier On

After serving in the army, I realized what it meant to be more than who I was. I’m gentle by nature, but I also had to be something else. This collage shows my two sides at odds with one another.

Salt

Inspired by Aaron Siskind’s black and white photographs of earth’s natural elements, I attempt to capture the play and interaction of light with shadow as it interacts on the grainy surface of a Himalayan salt rock. Viewing salt, a highly prized commodity in much of the world, it almost appears alien, as if it’s the moon’s surface in this light.
