United in Hate

I painted this using flower petals and other foliage found on western’s campus, as a way to represent how many people don’t view trans people higher than dirt, and as a way to represent the fragility of life in general. I taped on some of the flowers and foliage I found.

The pen in this image is representative of how trans and queer rights are always under fire from the pens of the lawmakers of this land. the pen is mightier than the sword.

the blood moon in the background is a nod to a game mechanic found in “Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild). When the blood moon rises, all the monsters in the world map respawn. This is my way of representing how the fight for queer and trans rights is always under this unbreakable cycle of attack from the monsters who rule this land.
