I chose to do my project on the abortion bans going on in the US. I chose to draw a women with hands reaching out to take control over her body.
I decided to record the sounds that I can hear from my room. In this recording you can hear birds chirping, cars driving by and some dogs barking. I often enjoy just sitting on my bed and listening to the birds chirping, it can be very calming.
I felt like these pictures showed my identity. I love to travel and explore nature with my friends and family. I’ve learned to make myself a priority so I included the picture on the bottom right which I actually have tattooed.
I was inspired by Aaron Siskind for this assignment. I like the idea of taking something from nature that may just seem ordinary but photographing it in a way that makes it unique.
