gender affirmation

for this piece i focused on project 2025 and trumps campaign specifically against gender affirming care and to show the emotion felt from having access to those resources, I decided to split a playboy model in half, showing the disconnection of mind and body often felt by transgender people. figure is rubbing testosterone on themself in the left half, provoking the flowers growing from the waist, representing the growth of something new in your own body, like what people feel from beginning hormone therapy usually. Distortion of face with male features and warping of the paper texture for skin. made with playboy magazines, pressed flowers, posca pen, mod podge and glue.

in my room

this piece is about how i see myself through the world and community i surround myself with. the focus of this self-portrait isn’t all on myself because of how much i associate my friends and home with who i am. i am more than just my physical sense, i am the music and the colors and the nature and life i surround myself with. pen and paper for simplicity and to capture minor details and folds.

love local!

instead of flipping off or making a statement about hate, i decided to go to a punk show and give it love. doing the heart gesture to me represents the love and need for spaces we can come together and listen to music and be ourselves, despite the hypocrisy of love at a punk show.
