Prescriptive Haven by Sabina Davis

I was inspired by Aaron Siskind’s photography. A lot of his work had many interesting qualities to them, whether the objects being used were unidentifiable or otherwise. I tried to capture more of the known objects feeling.

City Line – Eleanor Totten

This piece was inspired by Willem De Kooning’s abstract expressionistic art. I attempted to incorporate Kooning’s shapes, sharp black lines, colors, and dismembered figures into my own ideas. I used coffee, eyeliner pencils, and eyeshadow.

Eb and Flow

This photograph is inspired by the work of Aaron Siskind. I took this close-up photo of a painting and then decided to make it black and white because the colors contrast very nicely. Although the picture is quite simple, I think it invokes a lot of emotion and deep thought. I love how the paint ebs and flows throughout the photo.
