Category Studio Project: (Post) Modern Pastiche

Fredric Jameson used the term pastiche as a style in artwork that imitates that of another work, artist, or period, AKA Appropriation. In this studio project students created their own photographic re-interpretation of a work of art.

During the pandemic a similar global project was initiated by the Getty Museum Challenge. In the past year with our lives uprooted and major art institutions closed a sense of expression emerged on-line as the appropriating of artwork became viral. (pun intended).
