WOVEN: Dinh Q. Lê created large scale, evocative images created by hand-weaving strips of photographs using a traditional Vietnamese grass-weaving technique he learned as a child. In this studio project students created an image using the technique/concept of weaving two different images together.

Contrasting Eras

This image weaves together the contrasting architectural styles of the modern era in the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza with the beaux arts-style dome of Sun Tower of the 19th century. Photos taken by me.
