Bio

I came to Western Washington University in 2012, after graduating from the University of Oregon with a Ph.D. in Romance Languages. My research and teaching interests are Latin American Literature and Culture, Andean texts and textual practices, and theories of orality, textuality and identity.

Since my scholarship aims to reframe the concept of intertextuality within a Latin American context, I encourage students to understand these textualities as elements of a complex matrix of historical, social, and economic relations in which they themselves are immersed.
