This quarter I worked with Kylee Jovag, Colman Mitchell, and Marissa Loya to launch the Roaring 20s Gala for Seattle Children’s Hospital. Colman first started this project winter of 2018 and the event finally came together this November. I have recently joined the team this quarter and got started right away. I was the operations and logistics manager and was in charge of making sure everything played out smoothly.

Seattle Children’s donates almost $5 million in uncompensated funds to Whatcom county alone. With some research, we found a gap in the amount of support they receive from this area even though so much of their funds are used to help us.

This event was held on November 2, 2019 at the Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, WA. This event was a night to help “step back in time and enjoy a fun evening while supporting an incredible cause!” This was a 1920’s theme gala, we served hors d’oeuvres to our guests, had a silent auction going all night, had a live band playing and singing and lots more for our guests to relax. We ended up having over 50 guests with over 20 sponsors. In total, we were able to donate $8,900 to Seattle Children’s Hospital uncompensated fund.

Looking forward, our team would love to see this event occur again. Unfortunately we are all graduating very soon and will not be able to do this ourselves. We are currently looking for interest in taking this project on.
