The WEAR app is a venture focused on connecting local consumers to local clothing businesses in the Bellingham area. Through our initial interviews we found that, while there is a strong desire to shop locally, there is a disconnect between that and consumers who will do that first. Some of the main reasons for that are a lack of awareness of what businesses are around, a lack of awareness of what those businesses are offering. Local businesses, on the other hand, had a lack of business growth from previous promotional endeavors and therefore tend to rely on word of mouth.
WEAR is an inventory-sharing app, where local businesses can share their inventory, and consumers can search or filter by clothing type and find all matching clothing from the local stores in the app. WEAR also has a promotion section where local businesses can advertise any deals or promotions they have. We are excited to continue working with this venture in the future!
