I’ve worked at Western Washington University since 1998. My field of research is nanomagnetism, or in other words, the magnetic properties of very small structures, including magnetic films that are just a few atomic layers thick. One of the main applications of this kind of research is in increasing the density of computer information storage.

I teach a wide range of courses at WWU, but I especially like lab courses or lecture courses where I can bring in demonstrations to my classes and show students cool phenomena that they may have never seen before.
