The Tuscan-based photographer Aidan Avery has shared with the WWU photography department a resource for photo students interested in open calls, grants and job opportunities. His email newsletter, titled The Open Call List, contains a detailed list of “available calls for entry for exhibitions, grants, scholarships and residencies.” He wishes to “make opportunities in the photography world more accessible and visible to young, emerging, and student photographers. In March alone, [he] shared nearly 40 artist-friendly calls for entry and over 20 job opportunities in the arts via the newsletter.”

The Open Call List is free, with the ability to pay for a subscription to access further benefits. Newsletters are sent out every Monday. You could sign up for the open call list here: theopencall.substack.com, and see previous weekly lists as well. This is a wonderful resource for students here at WWU, so special thanks to Aidan Avery for providing such a useful resource!
