Positive news in the Fall Quarter!

The quarter has started!  After the weirdest end to an academic year I have ever experienced in Spring 2020, here’s hoping things begin to look up for Fall 2020.  In the interest of positive thinking, here are a few things I know of that are happening around campus and the world to look forward to:

Is anyone at sea – yes they are!  Check out this blog from my friends who have (through a small miracle) made it out on the Marine Seismic Facility Research Vessel, the Marcus G. Langseth this summer. Our lab will be headed out next summer on this ship to do similar work along the Queen Charlotte Fault in SE Alaska.

Also – if you haven’t already heard, a new documentary is catching the attention of scientists across the community.  There may be an option to watch the film at a showing “ON” campus (remotely) soon, but in the meantime, check it out here:
