Richard Serra created the Wright’s Triangle in 1978 and it is located in the middle of the walkway next to Artzen Hall on Western Washington University’s campus. It was meant to be interactive, giving you the choice to walk around it or walk through it. It also represents fragility, each side is leaning on the other for support so that they don’t fall. Appropriate for a college campus, since everyone leans on each other for help and guidance. Richard Serra meant for each side to just lean on each other, but in the slim chance of them falling, the university required Serra to fuse them together so that they don’t fall. But nevertheless, you still get the idea of fragility.
