Western Wears (Stylish Clothes)

Bruce Nauman created Stadium Piece in hopes to break the barriers between viewer and object, and he succeeded. Stadium Piece is one of the most recognizable sculptures on Western’s campus because of how interactive it is.  The steps are used for a place to socialize with friends, a quick workout outside, sleeping if you so desired or even a study area. These stairs were supposed to resemble the “front door” to campus, welcoming anyone who was willing to enter.

We wanted to show how connected Stadium Piece is to the viewer by putting a design of the piece as a logo on a Western shirt. Western’s campus is a sculpture garden, the sculptures, and the school is woven together into the same fabric.
