Dr. David Goldman and Dr. Linda Blackwell Summer Research Award
The Behavioral Neuroscience Program is excited and honored to have our first undergraduate research award named after Dr. David Goldman and Dr. Linda Blackwell, two longtime champion supporters of the program to help provide financial support and increase opportunities for undergrads to participate in research and make the field more inclusive and diverse.

Additional Summer Research Awards for 2023
Thanks to the wonderful support of our donors, the Behavioral Neuroscience Program launched a new 2023 Summer Research Award to directly support student’s ability to gain hands on research experience full-time over summer. The purpose of the award is to provide a $6,000 summer research stipend for an undergraduate student in the Behavioral Neuroscience (BNS) major currently volunteering in a BNS faculty lab. Whenever possible, the recipient would demonstrate financial need, interested in pursuing a graduate degree or health professional program, and be from an underrepresented group (e.g. racial or ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, from low income households and first-generation college students, LGBTQ+ individuals).
The program is also currently fundraising to create a third summer research award and continue to sustain these awards for future BNS students. Please visit our fundraiser website (link here) to learn more about how these funds help students in need. It is a future goal of the program to provide one summer research award for every BNS Program faculty research lab.
