There are many ways for grad students to become civically engaged at Western. Please see the list of grad student groups and check out the Associated Students website for information about interest clubs and University committee service. If you are involved in a graduate student organization but do not see the club listed below, please contact gsac@wwu.edu so the information about that organization can be published.
Graduate Student Social Club (GSSC)
The GSSC is an in-the-works subcommittee of creating a grad student-led club through the Associated Students (AS). The purpose is to build connection and recognition across the university for undergraduate and graduate students. GSSC plans to host community events each quarter and receives funding through the AS. The MBA Association
The primary group for MBA Candidates is the MBA Association (MBAA), which plans speaker series, socials and professional development events. There are also a wide assortment of academic student clubs and activities in the College of Business & Economics that are open to all MBA Candidates. Getting involved with CBE clubs and groups is a good way to gain experience, network and add desired skills to your resume.

Beta Alpha Psi
Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

English Graduate Student Association
The English Graduate Association (EGA) is all about enhancing the experience for Graduate Students currently enrolled in the English Department at Western Washington University. Primarily, the EGA works to foster communication between students, faculty, and administration, and which includes participation in a number of tasks, including but not limited to: -Organizing off-campus events (e.g., student readings) -Promoting on-campus presentations (e.g., research and career round-tables) -Promoting awareness of funding opportunities across campus -Scheduling fundraising events, the proceeds of which are applied toward events, conference travel, research, scholarships, and grants -Sending out a monthly newsletter. The EGA is also interested in developing a relationship with the local community here in Bellingham in any way they can. They welcome new ideas and suggestions on a regular basis. The EGA is open to all WWU students who are interested in the English fields.

Adult and Higher Ed Program’s Grad Student Advisory Council
We are an organization of Adult & Higher Education graduate students dedicated to enhancing our programs graduate student experience at Western Washington University.
The GSAC will meet once each month throughout the academic year. Meeting dates and times TBA. Our monthly meetings include planning for our annual spring retreat and planning other events for AHE students. This year we will be assisting with the eighth annual Graduate Student Symposium, here at Western. We hope to reinvigorate the mentorship program within AHE.
