Marshmello Wins Second Straight AMA for “Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music”

The 47th annual American Music Awards took place over the past weekend in Los Angeles, California. Marshmello remained in the center of the electronic music spotlight after winning an AMA for the second straight year. It can be assumed that the “Mello Gang” rallied together in full force with their votes to help their favorite producer stay on top, as Marshmello had plenty of competition. He was matched up against EDM powerhouses Avicii and The Chainsmokers. His song titled “Happier” with Bastille was also up for the Collaboration Of The Year award, but got edged out Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabillo’s “Senorita”. The masked producer had a huge year, collaborating with artists such as A Day To Remember, Chris Brown, and Kane Brown (who also happened to win the AMA for male country artist of the year). Mello even saw a partnership with Fortnite, allowing fans of the game to buy exclusive Marshmello skins, and attend a virtual Marshmello concert in February. Marshmello continues to push electronic influenced sounds into the mainstream, and it is safe to say he will remain on top for a long time to come.
