The NSLS WWU Chapter works to emulate the society’s mission statement of “Building leaders who make a better world”. One way of doing this is by encouraging members to participate in community service. In order to make a better world, we must start in the community we live in. The chapter has developed a working relationship with the Bellingham Food Bank, and we also went out on Earth Day to clean up a local organization, Lydia Place. They were kind enough to give each volunteer a baby Spruce!
Although in-person volunteering is a bit more challenging these days, we continue to seek out safe, realistic ways of giving back in our community.
