Patrick Dougherty  Builds these simple, elegant forms out os sticks and tree saplings. As someone who loves outdoor sculptures that work with nature,  I was immediately drawn to his work. I recently bought his book, because Goldsworthy’s are too expensive, and I am glad I did.

I watched a short documentary a bit ago: Pretty as a Picture – the art of David Lynch. The whole thing is amazing, but theres a segment about his paintings thats really incredible. He uses dead bugs, rodents and sometimes rotting meat and then whatever’s around him. Unfortunately I couldn’t really find many good photos or a youtube clip of what Im talking about, but if you all have Netflix, its instant streaming. Start it at 12 min, buts its only about an hour of your time if you want to see the whole thing. If you don’t have Netflix, then come see me!

I really enjoy these photographs for the simple oddities. The choice of fabric and materials and the way they react to the movement and light. I’m guessing he’s having figures jump into the air as he snaps the photo? Also the cheeseburger series!
